Point City Lake Park
Recreation and amusement park located on the shores of 340-acre (1.4 kmē)
lake with boating, fishing, paddle boats, picnic areas with shelters,
fishing boat and canoe rentals, historic carousel, train, waterslide,
largest outdoor swimming pool in the state, miniature golf, gymnasium,
playground and excursion boat. Site of annual "Day in the Park" festival
each September. There are 10 picnic shelters located throughout the
park ranging in capacity from 40 to over 500 people. The shelter fees
vary according to shelter size and amount of time rented. There are
free standing picnic tables and grills located in the main part of the
park available on a first come basis.
For
your family enjoyment, the park offers a miniature train ride, a merry
go round ride (adults can ride both), and a 30 passenger excursion boat
ride. The park also has an 18 hole miniature gold course for challenging
fun time. Tickets are sold at the park concession stand.
The
park offers 2 handicapped accessible playgounds. The main playground
boasts one of the largest and longest play pieces in the state. A new
smaller playground is located in the Camp Ann picnic area.

Butterfly Farm
Demonstrations of all stages of development: from the instar (caterpillar)
stage, to the chrysalis, to the emergence of the brilliantly colored
adult butterfly. You can hand feed the butters, too! All-A- Flutter
has roughly over 28 acres of nature. We welcome school groups, daycares,
camps and other organizations to come and visit the farm. Tours of the
facilities can be scheduled, along with an age-appropriate lecture for

Castle McCulloch Gold Mill - McCulloch Gold Mill was built
in 1832 and operated primarily as a gold processing center serving local
gold mining operations. Now open as a special events center.

Regional Health Education Center - Interactive health education
center with features depicting facets of human anatomy and health.

Environmental Center - Features 375 acres (1.5 kmē)
of hiking trails adjacent to High Point City Lake, nature preserve,
nature store, small animal exhibits, the North Carolina Mapscape, and
access to an eight mile (13 km) Greenway Trail.

Early
19th Century Quaker plantation on Historic Register that was involved
in and supported the abolitionist movement before the Civil War. On
display, one of two remaining false-bottom wagons used to transport

Museum
of Old Domestic Life - Quaker museum established around 1926
in 1858 Springfield Meeting House, containing a broad selection of artifacts
from typical colonial Quaker homesteads.

Peterson Doll And Miniature Museum
One of the south's largest doll & miniature museum, featuring more
than 2,700 dolls, miniature displays, dollhouses and unusual artifacts,
which includes the lifelong collection of one woman. Also a special
exhibit of over 130 Shirley Temple dolls, 17 African-American Personality
dolls, and other rotating doll and miniature exhibits. Groups and individuals
welcome. Guides for groups of 15 or more by reservation. Museum Gift
Store available.
